The objective of this piece was to capture the movement of
the actor. This was quite difficult to do at the start since the model was continuously
moving and capturing the motion in ‘real time’ is impossible. Capturing each
major key movement proved to be better rather than doing a very rough sketch of
each movement. The first set shows a very strong, exaggerated walk. The second
shows a jump upwards and the last shows the first few stages to doing a
backflip.
Although the physical anatomy of the model is out of place
in some places, the purpose of this task was to capture the motion. This meant
showing in very few sketches what the actor is doing. All 3 sets show this as
we can understand the motion applied. The distribution of the weighting for
each of the sets is shown greatly as well.
The angle on each of the limbs also helps exaggerate the
motion of the model. One personal improvement that I could suggest is to add
more detail to the limbs. More details such as curved lines, softer edges,
casting shadows and correct proportion. Proportion being the main element that should
be perfected, as well as the figures anatomy.
